New 5 Star showroom to generate 20 jobs in Telford

A home improvement firm is deploying state-of-the-art visualisation technology in a new Telford showroom, allowing customers to see windows and doors digitally superimposed on images of their own homes. This move forms part of a significant physical retail expansion that is creating up to 20 new jobs, as described by UK Tech News.

The technology investment is a key feature of a new £750,000 showroom being launched by 5 Star Windows & Conservatories in the St Georges area. The company is transforming the old C-Thru building into a two-floor, 3000 sq ft space set to open in May, following a complete refurbishment. At any one time, the showroom will house up to 50 different products, including windows, doors, and lifestyle extensions.

Managing Director Richard Manser stated that the sector appears to be defying the growth of online shopping, with customers keen to visit a physical location. He said the firm is investing to create one of the region’s most advanced showrooms, aiming to treble its current rate of 100 installations per month across Shropshire by having a local base where people can see products in person.

The recruitment drive for the Telford venture is now active, seeking fitters, designers, surveyors, and sales specialists. The company emphasised a desire to attract not only sector experts but also individuals passionate about customer service and home improvements.

Alongside the visualisation software, the showroom will showcase innovations like the ‘hup!’ modular extension system. The company defines this system as making the building of conservatories, orangeries, and living spaces quicker, easier, and more energy efficient.

5 Star Windows & Conservatories, which is part of the CO Home Improvement Network, reported a strong trading year at its existing showrooms in Kidderminster and Worcester. This performance is driven by consumer appetite for home improvements and the firm’s all-round service, covering consultation, design, sourcing, installation, and after-sales support.

The family-run business has completed more than 40,000 projects since its brand was created in 2002, all carrying a 20-year guarantee. It maintains a dedicated training centre to keep its 90-strong team updated with the latest legislation and construction techniques.

While the Telford showroom will primarily cater for retail clients, commercial and trade customers can still access a specialist trade counter at the company’s Kidderminster location.
