SIMSINLIFTS joins UK’s 100 leading SMEs

A UK lift communications specialist has been named among the country’s top 100 small and medium-sized enterprises, positioning its technology as a critical solution ahead of the nationwide switch-off of traditional landlines. SIMSINLIFTS, founded in late 2023, secured the 62nd spot in the prestigious Elite Business Top 100 list.
The recognition comes at a pivotal moment for the industry, with the UK’s copper cable network—which many lift emergency phones still rely on—scheduled for complete decommissioning by January 2027. This mandatory shift to digital is creating a burgeoning market for reliable mobile-based communication systems within lifts, a niche SIMSINLIFTS has rapidly come to dominate.
Headquartered in London and recently rebranded from Sims4Lifts in March 2025, the company now supports over 80 lift companies across the UK and has begun its European expansion with operations in Belgium. Its core product is a multi-roam SIM card, compatible with any lift auto-dialler, which is designed to automatically connect to the strongest available mobile network to ensure emergency calls always get through.
Beyond the SIM cards, the firm has developed a proprietary remote management system called Lift Sim Manager. This platform allows SIMSINLIFTS to activate cards remotely, eliminating the need for repeated engineer visits to site, and lets operators track SIM status and billing. The company showcased a significant evolution of this technology at the LiftEx 2025 trade show: a pioneering lift-to-telephony integration.
This integration connects its systems with sister company Prime Connect, a telecommunications provider. When a passenger makes an emergency call, the system automatically transmits their exact location to responders, a feature aimed at slashing response times and reducing anxiety for those trapped.
Leadership and Broader Industry Shift
The company is led by its co-founders and directors, Chaim Grunfeld and Chaim Berkowicz. Grunfeld, a serial entrepreneur, also serves as director of Prime Connect and has a background in property investment. The Elite Business Top 100 listing, which judges companies on eight criteria including growth, innovation, and community contribution, highlights businesses demonstrating exceptional leadership and resilience. Collectively, the 2025 EB100 winners generated over £430 million in revenue.
The accolade is one of several for the fast-growing firm. SIMSINLIFTS is also a finalist for the Elite Business Innovation and British Bank awards, with the ceremony set for 11th March 2025. It was previously shortlisted for the UK Business Tech Award’s Best Use of Innovation category in 2025, was a finalist in three categories at the Property Week Tech Innovation Awards, and won an award at the UK Business Tech Awards 2025.
This wave of recognition reflects the broader technological shift in the lift industry, which is moving towards connected lifts, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and cloud platforms. The trend is driving a transition from reactive maintenance to data-driven, predictive models and raising the importance of cybersecurity for remote systems.
Future Innovations and Market Position
Looking ahead, SIMSINLIFTS is focusing on next-generation innovations. The company is exploring e-SIM technology, which could potentially allow for the remote opening of stuck lift doors. It is also investigating how data from its SIMs can power predictive diagnostics and be integrated into wider smart-building platforms.
The company operates in a market alongside major elevator firms like KONE, Schindler, and Thyssenkrupp, but carves its niche by specializing solely in the communication layer. According to co-founder Chaim Grunfeld, the EB100 ranking is a testament to the trust placed in the company by its clients. “From pioneering our Lift Sim Manager platform to redefining multi-network connectivity, we remain committed to setting new standards for safety, compliance and efficiency within the lift industry,” he stated.
Financial filings show SIMSINLIFTS was registered as a dormant company as of 31st October 2024, indicative of its early stage of operation during that accounting period, despite its subsequent rapid growth and award wins.
