Detectives begin murder inquiry after boy, 15, dies five days on from Dollis Hill stabbing

Police will increase patrols in the coming days following the fatal stabbing of a 15-year-old boy in north-west London, as detectives continue to pursue a murder investigation and appeal for witnesses.
Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, who leads policing in the area, confirmed that the local community will see an enhanced police presence, with officers on hand to speak to members of the public who may have any concerns. The increased visibility is intended to provide reassurance and allow residents to raise questions directly with officers on the ground as the investigation progresses.
Investigation underway after teenager dies from injuries
The victim has been identified as Jamal Ringrose, 15. He was stabbed on Dudden Hill Lane in Dollis Hill at approximately 10:36pm on Saturday, May 30th. Emergency services treated him at the scene before he was taken to hospital, where he remained in a critical condition. Jamal died from his injuries five days later, on Thursday, June 4th.
Jamal’s mother, Whitney, has paid tribute to her son, describing him as a “talented, loving” boy and her “most beautiful gift.”
A murder investigation has been launched and is being led by Detective Inspector Simon Ager of the Metropolitan Police.
Arrests and charges made in connection with the incident
Police have made several arrests as part of their inquiries. A 15-year-old boy was arrested on Tuesday, June 2nd, and subsequently charged with affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, June 4th.
A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday, June 3rd, on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and affray. He remains in police custody.
An 18-year-old man was arrested on Sunday, May 31st, on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. He has since been released on bail.
A Section 60 order, which grants officers the power to stop and search individuals without reasonable suspicion, was initially put in place to protect the public and deter further harm. That order has since been withdrawn.
Police appeal for footage and information
Officers are pursuing several lines of inquiry and have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly keen to obtain any dashcam or mobile phone footage from anyone who was in the Dudden Hill Lane area at the time of the incident.
Detective Chief Superintendent Williams, who leads policing in the North West Basic Command Unit covering Brent, Harrow, and Barnet, has previously worked in Brent and Harrow as part of the Met’s Child Abuse Investigation Team. He has expressed a strong passion for the police’s role in public safety and has highlighted recent crime-fighting operations in his area, including tackling drug supply and shoplifting.
He was also involved in responding to a serious collision in Golders Green in late May, where he reassured the local community and confirmed a continued police presence.
Community reassurance and how to help
The enhanced patrols are part of a broader effort to maintain public confidence and ensure residents feel safe. Officers will be visible in the area over the coming days, available to speak with anyone who may have information or concerns.
