Queclink debuts advanced tracking system for trailers

In a global logistics industry racing to improve efficiency and secure valuable cargo, the demand for robust telematics hardware has never been higher. Against this backdrop, the IoT device manufacturer Queclink Wireless Solutions has launched a new heavy-duty tracker specifically engineered for one of the supply chain’s most vulnerable and challenging assets: the trailer.
Built for the Worst-Case Scenario
The newly released GV651 is a hard-wired trailer tracking unit designed to withstand punishing conditions. According to Queclink, the device features a rugged, waterproof enclosure with an IP67/IP69K rating and a reinforced connector, making it resistant to dust, high-pressure jet washing, and extreme temperatures. Its design prioritises uninterrupted operation, incorporating a substantial 5800 mAh backup battery that the company states can provide up to four months of continued tracking in the event of a power loss.
Vernon Bonser, International Sales Director at Queclink Wireless Solutions, framed the device as a solution for the most demanding operational environments. “Our GV651 solution is a high-specification tracker suited to the most complex and challenging trailer management and supply chain requirements,” Bonser explained. “It has been developed with durability and versatility in mind, meaning it provides non-stop tracking for complete peace of mind.”
Precision and Connectivity in Challenging Locations
To ensure reliable performance, the GV651 combines several connectivity technologies. It uses LTE Cat 1 for primary data transmission with 2G fallback to maintain stable, wide-area network coverage. For precise location data, it employs dual-band GNSS, with the option of an external antenna for installations where signal is weak—such as underneath a trailer or within its walls.
The device’s functionality extends beyond simple location. It supports sophisticated telematics, including temperature monitoring for cold chain logistics, and features BLE 5.2 connectivity to pair wirelessly with additional sensors. Its wide-voltage support (8–90 V DC) also ensures compatibility with a variety of trailer electrical systems.
A Growing Market and Stiff Competition
Queclink’s launch targets a rapidly expanding market. Industry projections cited in the company’s research suggest the global trailer market revenue could reach US$30 billion by 2030, fuelled by logistics expansion and the growth of temperature-controlled transport. This surge is driving demand for advanced tracking to improve fleet utilisation and security.
However, the sector is crowded with established competitors. Rivals like TEKTELIC, Digital Matter, and Milesight offer similarly rugged, long-battery-life trackers, while companies such as Teltonika and Abeeway provide specialised devices for harsh environments. Queclink itself already markets the GV600 Series for heavy-duty vehicles and trailers, indicating the GV651 is a strategic addition to a broader portfolio aimed at securing market share.
The Company Behind the Device
Queclink Wireless Solutions, founded in 2009 and headquartered in Shanghai, is a significant player in the global IoT hardware space. Publicly traded on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (300590.SZ), it operates three R&D centres in China and reports serving over 3,800 clients across more than 140 countries, having shipped over 73 million units worldwide.
The company has been active in innovation beyond hardware. In March 2026, it launched “Queclink Connect,” a global IoT connectivity service developed with security specialist Giesecke+Devrient (G+D). It has also recently introduced products ranging from an entry-level fleet tracker (the GV30 Series) to a satellite-enabled vehicle device (GV75MG SAT) and a smart bolt seal for container security (GES100CG).
This innovation has garnered recognition; Queclink was named a leading telematics hardware provider in a 2025 Berg Insight report, and its CV200 video telematics solution won an IoT Evolution Asset Tracking Award the same year.
Broader Applications in Transport and Logistics
The applications for devices like the GV651 span critical areas of modern logistics. Primarily aimed at trailer management—offering real-time visibility and theft prevention for refrigerated, flatbed, and other trailer types—its technology is also integral to comprehensive fleet management, cold chain compliance, and general asset tracking.
Furthermore, Queclink’s broader expertise intersects with stolen vehicle recovery (SVR) systems, where it has developed concealed backup trackers to combat theft, and corporate car-sharing schemes, which require reliable vehicle monitoring. “At Queclink, we are using our longstanding telematics and IoT expertise to develop high-performing hardware devices for commercial fleets,” added Vernon Bonser. “These sector-specific solutions use proven technology to deliver genuine operational improvements and performance benefits.”
With plans to unveil further new products at MWC Barcelona 2026, Queclink’s launch of the GV651 appears to be one move in a sustained push to provide the interconnected, durable hardware that the evolving logistics industry requires.
